Sunalta Wildflower Garden
Our Inner City Oasis. Sunalta is home to a completely volunteer-run Wildflower Garden. Located on the corner of 14th Ave and 16th ST, this lot was donated to Sunalta by a previous resident.
Since then, our passionate and dedicated volunteers have worked tirelessly for decades to cultivate a gorgeous and flourishing wildflower garden in the heart of Sunalta. This space is home to a little free library and many plants that need love and care.
This is good place to meet some new neighbours while digging in the dirt.

Sunalta Garden Network
A community resilience project that also grows food!
Do you have a yard that you would love to see blossom but aren't interested in cultivating it yourself? Sunalta resident and agricultural enthusiast, Derek Leahy would love to care for the space while producing food for the community!
This is a pilot project meant to grow food in unused community spaces on a small scale. Food harvested will be donated back to the community.
To join the network, contact Tamara Baldwin at tamara.baldwin@calgary.ca
